Mechanical Jihad follows on immediately from where Super Nova left off. Commander Jack Emerick and Sergeant Lee Cantrell are recovered from an escape pod found a drift in deep space. Meanwhile the Mechanicals finally bring their plans to fruition and launch an all out attack on the Human Race.
The inspiration for the book comes from my interest in the Dune Series. I am an avid reader of the Dune Novels and find the universe it is set in fascinating. Taking it a step further I wanted to see what it would look like if Machines did for all intensive purposes wipe out Human civilisation and what ideals would drive such an event.
It is difficult to discuss this book without giving everything away. Even the above is a bit of a spoiler but then again the title is a give away itself.
If you enjoy books about insane robots and Humanity getting crushed under the iron boot of an invading force then it is a must read!
